Hazel Lowy (they/them) is an undergraduate student studying Linguistics at Stanford University. They are most interested in the intersection of language and identity especially as it relates to race, gender, and sexuality. Currently, they are working on an overview of African American English (AAE) prosody as a resource for educators and linguists. Hazel plans to pursue a PhD in Linguistics with the goal of conducting applied linguistics research that centers AAE speakers and Black communities.
